Lisa Gibson is a seasoned Registered Dietitian and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Supervisor with two decades of experience in the field of eating disorder care. Her career has been dedicated to counseling, teaching, advocacy, and supervision in this field. Lisa currently serves as a Nutrition Manager for the Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program at Eating Recovery Center, where she oversees the nutrition program and supervises a team of dietitians. She also runs a successful medical nutrition therapy practice, offering individualized care for patients struggling with eating disorders. Her previous roles include Clinical Dietitian at regional hospitals and Nutrition Manager for a bariatric program, providing pre- and post-surgery nutrition support. Lisa has nearly a decade of experience as adjunct faculty at Oklahoma colleges and frequently presents on topics related to nutrition, mindful eating, and eating disorders in her community. A passionate advocate, Lisa co-founded the Oklahoma Eating Disorders Association (OEDA) in 2008 and served on the board in various leadership roles and continues to support the organization as an Emeritus Member. Lisa’s work with OEDA was recognized in 2013 with the prestigious Bermudez Award. Her commitment to advocacy has also extended to roles on the board of the Oklahoma Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and remains an active volunteer in local dietetic and eating disorder groups. She remains dedicated to advancing the quality of care for eating disorder patients and has recently expanded her expertise by pursuing additional training in dietitian supervision. To further support the field, she co-founded EDRD Consultants, offering both individual and group supervision for clinicians specializing in eating disorders. Lisa earned her Bachelor of Science in Food & Nutrition with high distinction from the University of North Alabama and her Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences with honors from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. With her extensive experience, commitment to education, and passion for advocacy, Lisa Gibson continues to make a lasting impact on the field of dietetics and in the lives of those affected by eating disorders.
