Tara McCarthy went to James Madison University in Virginia, graduated and went on to Boston University for a Master’s degree in nutrition. She started her career at Boston Medical Center after completing her internship. In 2001, she joined Boston Children’s Hospital where she worked full time on the oncology and cardiology units. In 2005, she changed to part time focusing on celiac disease, food allergies and Eosinophillic Esophagitis. She started teaching at Northeastern part time as well as starting a small private practice. In 2010, Tara joined Boston College Campus School, which is a school for developmentally delayed children as a nutrition consultant. In 2014, Tara cofounded a company called Kindrdfood which guides families who have to change they way they eat due to a medical condition, dietary restriction or change in the family. She is also the mother 3 children ages 11, 9 and 7.
