Act as Clinical Nutrition Manager in his/her absence. 3. 02/01-04/10 CONSULTANT CLINICAL DIETITIAN Westchester General Hospital, Miami, FL Responsible for the delivery of medical nutrition therapy including nutrition assessments, care planning, and monitoring of high risk hospitalized patients (including Nutrition Support patients) in this 197-bed acute care hospital. Perform duties in support of and in compliance with performance improvement plans, government agencies, and other licensing, accrediting, and regulatory agencies. 4. 11/08-10/09 HOME NUTRITION SUPPORT DIETITIAN InfuScience, Miami Lakes, FL Responsible for the management of Nutrition Support patients (on enteral and parenteral nutrition), qualification of these patients for reimbursement under Medicare Guidelines, coding for appropriate diagnoses, leading Nutrition Support Team, and coordinating care with home health agencies. 5. 09/03-12/08 CLINICAL/THERAPEUTIC DIETITIAN Kindred Hospital South Florida Hollywood, Hollywood, FL Responsible for the medical nutrition therapy and nutrition support of medically complex patients, in this 128-bed long-term acute care hospital. Developed two-week cycle menu to cater to long-term rehabilitation patients. 7. 04/99 – 05/02 CLINICAL NUTRITION MANAGER Mount Sinai Medical Center/HCA, Miami Heart Institute Campus, Miami Beach, FL Managed clinical nutrition services through 25 FTEs in this 278-bed acute-care facility with a skilled nursing unit. Average of 500 patient meals per day. Increased patient satisfaction with food services from 78% to 86%, quality of patient tray service from 87 to 100%, and department sanitation from 70 to 95%.Drafted a business proposal and cost-benefit analysis for capital expenditures in excess of $160,000.00.Contributed in implementing hospital-wide closed enteral nutrition system. Average of 1000 patient meals per day. Maintained 100% departmental compliance with all regulatory agencies. Added two enteral formulas to the hospital’s formulary.
