I help people with heart concerns eat for wellbeing, enjoyment, and real life.
I believe the most heart-healthy way of eating is one that doesn’t stress you out.
We work towards what I call the Sweet Spot: healthy, delicious, and right for you.
You can optimize nutrition-related risk factors like high blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol while also honouring your right to enjoy eating and live your life.
I worked for nearly nine years with Calgary’s cardiac rehabilitation program, and I still help out there on occasion, when needed. Over 1700 people with heart disease go through the program every year, most of them counting their lucky stars after surviving a heart attack or similar cardiac event.
In 2014 I went into private practice. Since then I’ve worked on a study at University of Calgary, spoken at numerous conferences, and been interviewed on CBC’s Calgary Eyeopener (about fast food salads, coconut oil, and Calgary Stampede food).
My focus these days is helping people with heart problems navigate food and nutrition, either in person or via this blog full of practical tips.
If you’d like a little heart-health inspiration in your social media feed, I share tips, recipes, and opinions on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Let’s connect!
