Emilia is a registered dietitian with l’Ordre des diététistes-nutritionnistes du Québec (ODNQ). Emilia completed her Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences, majoring in Dietetics at McGill University. She is interested in pediatric and adult nutrition, focusing mainly on women’s health and gastrointestinal disorders. Since completing her degree, Emilia has been working with the pediatric population, including infants to teenagers. She has worked with families for the introduction of solids, picky eaters, poor growth/weight gain, and ADHD. Through her work in pediatrics, Emilia learned about nutrition's importance and role during pre-conception and the perinatal period. This time is crucial and is extremely influential in the health and outcomes of the offspring, which sparked an interest in fertility and pregnancy nutrition. Emilia has completed continuing education courses on nutrition for fertility and pregnancy, as well as for other women’s health conditions including PCOS, endometriosis, and menopause. Emilia’s interest in gastrointestinal disorders stems from her diagnosis of celiac disease when she was 14 years old. She has first-hand experience dealing with a diagnosis with significant implications on diet and lifestyle, as well as with gluten-free eating. She understands the impact of gastrointestinal disorders (including IBS, Crohn’s disease, etc.) on quality of life and has completed continuing education courses relating to these matters.
