Opportunities for Dietitians in Home Care
OPPORTUNITIES FOR DIETITIANS IN HOME CARE
Rates of older adults in the United States continues to grow. In 2011 the first of the Baby Boomers (those Americans born between 1946 and 1964) turned age 65. As thousands of Baby Boomers hit retirement age each day, home care opens the door to helping aging seniors to stay home and age with grace. This webinar will review opportunities for dietitians working in home care including the Department of Veteran Affairs’ Home Based Primary Care program. Participants will learn the role of the dietitian in keeping aging seniors at home and important consideration for working in home care. Future opportunities for dietitians in home care will also be identified.
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • Describe different opportunities for dietitians working in home care.

  • Recognize the role of the dietitian in keeping aging seniors at home.

  • Identify important considerations for working in home care.

  • Understand future opportunities for dietitians in home care.
