NOURISHING THE CANCER PATIENT: A FUNCTIONAL APPROACH TO SUPPORTING THE MIND AND BODY
Have you ever wondered why patients with a positive attitude and outlook are often better able to tolerate their cancer treatment? Research shows the mind is a powerful force in healing and in fact, actual physiologic changes can be prompted with thoughts. From a dietary perspective, whole, nutrient dense foods can reduce inflammation and heal damaged cells to promote restoration from debilitating cancer therapies. Join Certified Specialist in Oncology and Functional Medicine Dietitian Lindsay Malone as she reviews strategies for nourishing the whole cancer patient beyond adding extra calories and protein. Lindsay Malone

Lindsay Malone, MS, RDN, CSO, LD is a registered dietitian and certified specialist in oncology. Lindsay holds a Bachelors of Science degree is Business Administration for Xavier University and Masters degree in Public Health Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University. She currently practices at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine and is owner of Lindsay Malone Consulting, where she partners with patients, caregivers and organizations dedicated to wellness. In this capacity she works to share her nutrition knowledge as a writer, editor, public speaker and educator. Lindsay's passion for nutrition is rooted in her belief that food truly is the best medicine.
