Heidi’s nutrition philosophy is grounded in the principles of Health at Every Size (HAES) and intuitive eating. Helping people restore and maintain a healthy relationship with food is a priority for Heidi. She believes that all foods fit within a healthy eating pattern. Her experience includes counseling patients with diabetes, kidney disease, eating disorders and gastrointestinal issues, among others. She has a background as a dietitian working in a clinical inpatient setting and is a member of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Work History

Heidi Lohmann-Schrader’s first job as a teenager was at a Hy-Vee grocery store in Independence, Missouri, where she has lived most of her life. She worked in a variety of positions in multiple stores over the years. Heidi's dream for a long time was to become a Hy-Vee dietitian and with hard work and much support, she saw this come to fruition in 2022.

Education

Heidi obtained her bachelor's degree from Kansas State University, double majoring in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. She completed her accredited dietetic internship and master’s degree from Auburn University.
