THE EMOTIONAL BRAIN MAP: ADDRESS THE ROOT CAUSE OF STRESS EATING AND OBESITY
Update your approach to stress eating and healthy weight with this practical one-hour course. As dietitians are seeking ways to produce easier, more lasting weight loss, this course maps out a simple, brain-based paradigm to help your patients understand why they overeat and how to switch off those drives. Emotional Brain Training (EBT) is an evidenced-based method for stress resilience that Dr. Mellin has presented at FNCE, past Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) meetings, and state dietetic association meetings. Research has shown that after six months of education and support for weight loss, patients regain their weight. With 75% of American’s overweight or obese and with dietitians being the recognized profession for delivering weight management, dietitians are integrating new, science-based methods into their counseling. Learn the basics of EBT by understanding the EBT Brain Map and applying it to challenging cases. If you want more, effective 2022, dietitians can become certified in EBT as coaches, and with added training, fully-certified EBT Providers. Learn about this EBT Brain Map and begin sharing these concepts with your patients right away.
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • Describe stress reactive circuits as a neurobiological root cause of overeating and weight gain.

  • Differentiate the two types of brain circuits that impact overeating and overweight.
