The Anti-Inflammatory Lifestyle Prescription
THE ANTI-INFLAMMATORY LIFESTYLE PRESCRIPTION: CALM CHRONIC INFLAMMATION AND IMPROVE YOUR HEALTH
Inflammation is part of our natural healing process. When our bodies are faced with injury, illness or toxins, the immune system kicks in to jump-start the healing process. But constant, chronic inflammation damages healthy cells, tissues and organs, leading to sub-optimal health. The good news is that lifestyle plays a role in reducing and preventing chronic inflammation, from what we eat to how much we sleep. Learn evidence-based strategies for calming inflammation, including dietary patterns, foods, nutrients, sleep, stress management and exercise. Attendees will leave with a framework for an anti-inflammatory lifestyle.
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • Define inflammation and differentiate between chronic and acute inflammation.

  • Identify causes of chronic inflammation and associated health risks.

  • Review diet's role in reducing and preventing chronic inflammation, including dietary patterns, specific foods and nutrients.

  • Describe additional lifestyle factors that complement an anti-inflammatory diet, including sleep, stress management and exercise.

  • Provide resources for continued learning and lifestyle change.
