Using EBT To Improve Physiology, Appetite and Cravings
EBT: A SCIENTIFIC TREATMENT OF OBESITY: IMPROVE PHYSIOLOGY, APPETITE, CRAVINGS, AND JOY
Research has shown that treating physiology can lead to changes in weight and eating. This one-hour webinar will provide dietitians with an overview of Emotional Brain Training (EBT), including analyzing physiological brain states and identifying how using emotional resilience tools change physiology. This introduction to EBT will help you evaluate whether you want to use EBT to help patients change their biochemical drives to overeat and regain weight. EBT is an evidence-based method for stress resilience and obesity treatment that Dr. Mellin has presented at FNCE, past Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) meetings, and state dietetic association meetings. Respond effectively to your patients when they ask how to change their stress-induced physiological drives to overeat and regain weight. Share with them the role of attaining optimal physiology as signified by joy, and that, based on evolutionary biology, their natural state is joy. Evaluate your interest in becoming certified in EBT to educate patients on stress resilience and possibly continuing your training to become a fully certified EBT Provider. The two-day webinar for EBT basic certification is provided through Dietitian Central.
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • Describe the root cause of stress eating and obesity based on brain circuitry.

  • Differentiate the five physiological brain states and how they impact weight management.

  • Describe a non-drug method of changing drives to overeat and regain weight.

  • Explain the role of EBT in changing the biochemistry that drives overeating and weight regain.
