People spend a lot of time in the workplace, and consume a lot of calories there, too. Employers increasingly realize that a nutritious diet is linked to health, well-being and productivity. Yet, many worksites have unhealthy food environments that include food at every event, reward with food and promote food-based fundraisers.

In this webinar, explore how to change the 'culture of cupcakes' in the workplace and fuel employees with better food choices!

Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:

Describe what employees report eating at work and list the most common food items eaten there.

List barriers to optimizing nutrition at work.

Identify nudges, such as pricing and product placement, that can help employees make better food decisions.

About the Presenter: Debbie Petitpain, MS, RDN, LDN

Debbie Petitpain, MS, RDN, LDN is the Sodexo Wellness Director at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She has been a registered dietitian nutritionist for more than 15 years and enjoys working with people looking to make dramatic diet and lifestyle changes to lose weight, improve their medical problems and get healthier! Currently, she works in the Office of Health Promotion creating programs and policies to promote wellness at work and to address food insecurity in the community. She graduated from the College of Charleston, received her Masters in Nutrition from Boston University and completed her dietetic training in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is currently volunteering as a national Spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is doing a fellowship on food security with the Academy Foundation. At home, she and her husband model to their two young daughters how food nourishes the body, gives us energy, helps us grow and connects us to our community.
