EBT Essentials For Treating Obesity And Stress Eating: Brain States And The EBT Brain Map
EBT ESSENTIALS FOR TREATING OBESITY AND STRESS EATING: BRAIN STATES AND THE EBT BRAIN MAP
Research has shown that treating stress overload is key to success in treating stress eating and disordered eating and preventing weight regain. This one-hour webinar will equip dietitians with two basic skills in Emotional Brain Training (EBT) to integrate into clinical practice immediately: analyzing physiological brain states and administering the EBT Brain Map. This introduction to EBT will help you transition to delivering brain-based dietetic services that help patients stop self-judgment and begin switching off stress-reactive circuits to improve adherence to dietary changes. EBT is an evidence-based method for stress resilience and obesity treatment that Dr. Mellin has presented at FNCE, past Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) meetings, and state dietetic association meetings. Add your knowledge of this neuroscience-based method to your nutrition counseling toolkit and participate in this session to evaluate your interest in becoming a Certified EBT Provider and delivering counseling and group programs based on EBT. The two-day webinar for EBT certification is provided through Dietitian Central.
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • Describe the root cause of stress eating and obesity based on brain circuitry.

  • Differentiate the five physiological brain states and how they impact weight management.

  • Discuss the rationale for the EBT Brain Map for stress eating and weight management.

  • Evaluate the brain map findings for one case study.
