INTRODUCING SOLIDS: GETTING A SOLID START IN THE FIRST YEAR
What are the nutritional needs of the infant in its first year? When and how should complementary foods be added to the infant's diet? About the Presenter: Meghan Mueller, MS, RDN/ CD-N, IBCLC/RLC, LCCE
Meghan Mueller, MS, RDN/ CD-N, IBCLC/RLC, LCCE, has had 10 years of experience supporting pregnant women and young families in a variety of capacities. She has worked as a nutritionist with the WIC Program at both the local and state levels. She also counseled patients of all ages as an outpatient dietitian at a community health center and facilitated a weight management program for children and adolescents. During her work with breastfeeding women at WIC, Meghan became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and has facilitated postpartum support groups for women in several settings. Because of the connection of birth and its effect on breastfeeding, Meghan also became a Childbirth Educator. Meghan has a new appreciation for all things pregnancy-birth-breastfeeding related after becoming a mother herself, and is a mom to 3 young children.
