Navigating PMOS and Fertility
NAVIGATING PMOS AND FERTILITY: A DIETITIAN'S GUIDE TO LABS, NUTRITION, AND TREATMENT SUPPORT
This webinar will provide dietitians with a practical, evidence-informed framework for supporting clients with PMOS who are trying to conceive. Rather than focusing only on weight loss or a single fertility diet, the session will explore PMOS as both a reproductive and metabolic condition, highlighting the role of insulin resistance, androgen excess, ovulatory dysfunction, inflammation, and nutrient status in fertility outcomes.

Participants will learn how to assess common fertility-related labs, identify nutrition priorities before conception, counsel clients through realistic meal planning, and evaluate supplement options. The session will also review common fertility procedures, including ovulation induction, IUI, IVF, egg retrieval, and embryo transfer, with emphasis on how dietitians can support clients before, during, and after treatment. Case examples and counseling strategies will be included to help translate the evidence into real-world practice.
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • Explain the relationship between insulin resistance, androgen excess, ovulatory dysfunction, and fertility outcomes in individuals with PMOS.

  • Evaluate evidence-informed nutrition strategies that support ovulation, oocyte quality, metabolic health, and pregnancy preparation.

  • Discuss common fertility treatments used in PMOS.

  • Identify key fertility-related labs and biomarkers that may guide nutrition counseling for clients with PMOS.

  • Describe practical supplement considerations for PMOS and fertility.
