LIFESTYLE FOR CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE PATIENTS ON GLP-1 AND/OR SGLT-2 THERAPY
This webinar will review key nutrition considerations for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) who are receiving SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists. Participants will learn to identify potential nutrition-related risks, including issues related to macronutrient intake, micronutrient status, hydration, and the risk of malnutrition or muscle loss. The session will also highlight nutrition interventions that can help support nutritional status and reduce the risk of muscle wasting in patients using these medications. Attendees will review important laboratory markers and monitoring strategies relevant to CKD patients on SGLT2 and GLP-1 therapies. In addition, the webinar will explore the role of GLP-1 receptor agonists in gut health and the gut–kidney axis. Finally, practical strategies for interdisciplinary team collaboration and workflow will be discussed to help optimize patient outcomes.
