Levels of Care for Disordered Eating
THE DIETITIAN ROLE IN LEVELS OF CARE FOR DISORDERED EATING
Disordered eating (DE) treatment includes nutrition counseling and therapy, psychosocial counseling and therapy, and medical monitoring and treatments. Nutrition counseling for DE is complex and involves treatment of several facets. The criteria for determining appropriate LOC relates to different aspects of care provided, and some specific criteria is directly related to nutritional status. This webinar will provide details about assessment of appropriate LOC, main dietitian responsibilities in each LOC, and how to properly transition between different LOC. Case studies will be discussed to apply information learned, with a basic case example and a more complex case. Whether you are a seasoned DE dietitian or just learning about the field, attending this webinar should enhance your nutrition practice.
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • State the levels of care (LOC) for disordered eating (DE) and list criteria for LOC.

  • Assess appropriate LOC for DE clients/patients.
