THE DIETITIAN'S GUIDE TO CIRCADIAN RHYTHMS, CHRONOTYPE AND HEALTHY MEAL TIMING
Does it matter when you eat? Does it matter if you keep an eating schedule? What about eating after dark, is that OK? This presentation on Circadian Rhythms, Chronotype and Nutrition will answer all of these questions and will introduce you to the suprachiasmatic nucleus, peripheral clocks, chrono-obesity, and provide evidence-based research on the health implications of jet lag, shift work eating times and calorie distribution throughout the day. By attending this session, RD’s will learn one more piece in the puzzle to help their clients achieve their goals and prevent chronic disease.
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • State the relationship between the central and peripheral clocks in the body


  • List at least 3 health outcomes that are affected by circadian misalignment


  • Describe how the timing or distribution of calories could help their client

Jean LaMantia

Jean LaMantia is a registered dietitian, cancer survivor and author of three books on the topics of cancer, lymphedema and intermittent fasting. She is also the creator of the Lymphedema Nutrition School – an online program to help individuals living with lymphedema. She will be launching the professional version of the program this year so that dietitians can acquire the skills and confidence they need to help their patients with lymphedema.
