GETTING STARTED WITH THE KETOGENIC DIET
Help your patients and clients safely get started with a ketogenic diet. This approach is not for everyone - it requires individualized attention, a high level of patient engagement and most importantly, multi-disciplinary collaboration. Learn more about this approach, the evidence supporting its use and basic steps for implementation, monitoring and progression.
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • Describe the ketogenic diet.


  • Discuss the evidence supporting its therapeutic use.


  • Highlight target population groups that may benefit from the diet and those that should avoid it.


  • Identify the components required for successful implementation of the diet.


  • Review the steps for implementation, monitoring and progression of the diet including initiation, monitoring and diet expansion.


  • Identify patient and clinician resources to support use and adherence to ketogenic diet.

Lindsay Malone

Lindsay Malone is a Functional and Integrative Medicine dietitian and certified specialist in oncology nutrition. Lindsay holds a Masters degree in Public Health Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University where she currently teaches within the School of Medicine. Lindsay also runs a private practice and consulting firm where she partners with individuals, groups and organizations to improve health and prevent disease.
