MNT-DSMES Program
FINANCIAL PLAN FOR A BEST PRACTICE MNT-DSMES PROGRAM
The foundational elements of a solid financial plan for your MNT and DSMES programs are actually quality measures in 3 categories: structure, process and outcome financial measures. Each of the 26 measures are presented in a practical, easy-to-understand way so that you can start to implement them one by one the very next day. We always hear how difficult it is to sustain these programs, and others like it. By adopting these measures you will be able to "think like a business and act like a business", as our chronic disease programs in all practice settings really, truly, ARE a business!

Here is 1 of the 26 measures you will learn about in this engaging CEU event:
  1. Must regularly ask key financial status questions related to your program, IF you are not receiving regular financial reports:
  2. Is my program: Breaking even? Making money? Losing money?
  3. If losing money, what can our team do to reverse this?
  4. What expenses are charged to my program? (Look to see if they are accurate and reasonable…wait until you hear Mary Ann's own experience with this!)
  5. Do certain expenses really belong to my program? (Once again, you will learn what happened to Mary Ann…and it's not good!)

Remember, a financial plan is not about Magic… it's about making sure that key quality measures….that all start with the letter "M" (you know I like to "edu-tain"!)…are adopted. This significantly helps insure your programs remain financially viable, and this insures that you stay employed!
Upon successful completion of this two-hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • Name the 3 types of quality measures that must be included in a financial plan for a MNT-DSMES program.

  • Name 3 types of a MNT-DSMES financial plan's STRUCTURE quality measures.

  • Name 3 types of a MNT-DSMES financial plan's PROCESS quality measures.

  • Name 3 types of a MNT-DSMES financial plan's OUTCOME quality measures.

  • Name the types of non-DSMES key tasks that educators can be scheduled to complete that lead to program sustainability.
