Women, Weight and Menopause
This webinar will focus on metabolic and hormonal changes that happen during menopause and the effect it has on weight, risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Changes in estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and insulin levels will be discussed and the ramifications for this population of women. Specific diet therapies to help negate weight gain and risks of disease will be discussed as well as lifestyle interventions that help menopausal women.
Upon successful completion of this two-hour course, the participant should be able to better understand:
  • Hormonal changes during menopause and how they relate to weight management.

  • Metabolic changes during menopause, including risk of CVD, Diabetes.

  • Nutritional balance needed during this life stage.

  • Specific vitamin therapies for menopause.

  • Specific exercise, sleep and lifestyle therapies for women during menopause.
