(Now available On-Demand) All professional organizations have a code of ethics to uphold. For RDs and DTRs, we must hold ourselves accountable to the Academy's code of ethics as well as our personal ethics for our patients, clients and the public.

Recently, CDR, the licensing agency for RDs and DTRs made Ethics a requirement for each 5 year cycle. While we need this to meet our requirement, it is important to realize why we need to use ethics in our daily lives, especially when we are at work. Proper ethics helps guide us, as healthcare professionals, to provide the best health care to our patients as possible. In other words, go "above and beyond" and realize why we want to do this in the first place. Good ethics comes naturally for most. You are probably that person; however, how do you handle someone who is not ethical? This will be discussed in this webinar.

Upon successful completion of this 1 hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • Know where to find the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Code of Ethics

  • Understand all the main points of ANDs Code of Ethics and the procedure which occurs if an RD or DTR is reported for breaking the code of ethics

  • How to apply the Code of Ethics to your workplace

  • Be familiar with the reporting procedure for any professional thought to be breaking his or her Code of Ethics
