EMPLOYMENT 2006 to Present Center For Discovery, Lakewood, CA Registered Dietitian (Supervisor of Nutrition Services) •Oversee the dietary program for all facilities at Center for Discovery •Supervise 9 Registered Dietitians •Preceptor for 6 Interns per year from California State University, Long Beach •Give 6 lectures per year on the Dietitians Role in the treatment of Eating Disorders for nutrition classes at California State University, Long Beach •Give in-services within the company on the dietary program •Developed the Kitchen Skills education group/lectures •Updates the nutrition groups topics as needed to stay current on nutrition education •Initial, weekly, and discharge session with clients. •Monitor clients exchanges on a weekly basis to verify proper weight gain •Create weekly “nutrition goals” for the clients •Monitor the clients weekly calorie counts •For discharge: provide 3 RD referrals, have parents sign consent form for RD that they make an appointment with, meet with parents to answer any questions (schedule with therapist), do a dietary discharge summary, once consent form is signed call outpatient RD and fax dietary discharge summary to RD •Communicate with the doctor on any medical problems that may need dietary interventions: constipation, diarrhea, dehydration, etc. If client has diarrhea, have nursing do bathroom obs and use a BM log to record. If client is dehydrated, may need to have nursing do a water log as well.
