Also performed complaint investigations regarding abuse and/or neglect of patients. Served as an integral team member in assessing and evaluating both patients and facilities, working closely and communicating with nursing and medical staff, social workers, therapists and others. Certified Health Facility Surveyor by CMS (successfully passing examinations in nursing, pharmaceuticals, social work and therapy) 1991 - 1993 Valley Management • Neshoba County Hospital and Nursing Home Philadelphia, Mississippi Clinical Registered Dietitian Clinical Registered Dietitian for a 120-bed nursing home and a 30- bed hospital. Duties included charting, patient consultation and performing nutritional assessments. Coordinated resident/patient care planning with an interdisciplinary team consisting of RNs, social workers, MDs and specialized rehab therapists including speech, physical and occupational. Also provided staff training to a variety of professionals. 1990 - 1991 Southern Health Corporation • Trace Regional Hospital Houston, Mississippi Regional Dietary Consultant /Director of Dietary & Nutrition Services Duties included purchasing food for a 60-bed nursing home and a 30-bed hospital/swing bed unit. Responsible for menu planning for the facilities and the public cafeteria. Other duties included managing quality assurance of dietary services, scheduling of 25 employees, food/supplies inventory control, clinical charting, consulting, and performing nutritional assessments of the residents/patients. Worked closely with doctors and facility staff to ensure quality patient care. Provided in-service training for staff personnel. Served as consultant to 2 nursing homes and hospitals in Alabama and 1 nursing home in Georgia during this time. Developed a quantity food-purchasing contact for all facilities to purchase from one company. 1988 - 1990 Prairie Opportunity Head Start • Central Office Starkville, Mississippi Regional Nutritionist Responsible for menu planning for 15 Head Start Facilities in a 4-county area consisting of 1500 pre-school children ages 4-5 years. Developed 3-month bids for food purchasing. Provided nutrition education for the children as required by the USDA. Supervised food inventories, deliveries and ordering. Developed systems and forms for centers to use. Provided in-service training for staff.
