I am a contracted dietitian for an out patient rehab facility. They pay me an hourly rate to assess patients, provide education consults when needed, teach classes, individualize menus, etc. All very typical RD duties. However, as far as I know, they do NOT bill for any of the consults or classes. They simply absorb the cost of the dietitian and treat it as a "value add" service to their patients

I just got consulted for a 12 week meal planning job. The individual felt $100 is fair compensation for 3 months of meal plans. Why does he think that? Because another, less qualified, RD told him she would accept $100 as compensation for what will be hours and hours of work. She should be ashamed of herself. I typically charge between $250 and $150 PER WEEK of a plan depending on how complicated

I'm working on having my own practice and would like some guidance in becoming a medical provider. For now I don't have a set location to see the clients but I wanted to get all the paper work out of the way while I look for place to see my clients. One of the information they want me to fill out is Americans w/Disabilities form but I'm unable to, wondering if I can just submit the paper work

I'm an RD in my first year of starting my own counseling business. It's just me, and I'm taking it on as a side project at the moment to a clinical job, learning and building over time. At the moment, I have a pricing structure based on number of appointments, including package options. My area of interest for growth here is in specific weight modification, particularly with more athletic individ

I am currently in private practice and just received my Medicare/Medicaid pin # to start billing insurance companies. I am not sure what to do next in getting this processed started. I have seen that you have to be credentialed with local insurance companies. Does this apply to all states? I am in CO. How do I go about getting credentialed with these insurance companies? Does anybody sell supplements in your private practice? It would be nice to be able to offer patients one stop shopping to purchase supplements that I recommend instead of having to find it at a grocery or natural food store after they leave? If so, I'd like to know what companies you have used. Do you receive a portion of sales/mark up? Do patients have access to reorder online? Any other feedb

Hello Friend's and Colleagues,

I have been doing several demos of various software apps to use for online nutrition/fitness counseling. I am looking for one that will not only help organize my clients list and appt scheduling but also with meal plan and updated fitness templates that I won't have to generate myself. My clients have a variety of needs (body building, gluten free, allergies, we

Hi everyone.

I am selling my Bodystat 1500 Body Composition Monitoring Unit. I used it in my private nutritionist practice but am no longer using it. It was used only about a dozen times. Excellent condition.

See below for item details and a link to the eBay auction.

The Bodystat 1500 bioelectrical impedance analyzer is perfect for quick, accurate body fat measurements. It is portable, e

I was recently contacted by a facility that was approved to participate in a head start program. They are on a time crunch to get this done but do not seem 100% organized.

I am looking for advice on what the current rate would be to review menus and ensure they match the necessary meal pattern for children 3-5 years old.

I believe there will be some allergy specific menus as well.

Did all the malpractice insurance companies out there raise the rate of coverage this year? Mine used to be ~$85 now its $285. Someone recommended Mercer but it is also $283. Any ideas would be appreciated, thank you!

Hi all my fellow Private Practice RDs,

I am starting out and want to know what are your personal opinions about softwares for EMR since most insurances don't take paper billing anymore or won't be. I've looked at kaizenrd, kalix, mnt assistant. Pricing is reasonable but don't know which ones would be better.

Also if you go EMR, does that eliminate the superbill?

Thank you!

Hello, I am writing this message on behalf of my wife who is an RD. We are planning to open a private practice in a retail space very soon. She plans to focus on weight loss and obesity.

We will most likely not be taking any insurances the first 6 months since she is just now applying for medicare.

Using her projections, she feels that she will be seeing 16 new patients, and 8 establish
