CBD: What’s the Buzz
CBD: WHAT'S THE BUZZ?
Cannabidiol, or CBD, is one of the fastest growing markets ever. CBD oil is marketed directly to consumers to relieve almost any ailment, promote well-being and augment or replace mainstream medicine. It’s also found in all types of foods and beverages – from coffee and cocktails to chocolate and brownies – and is the trendiest ingredient for restaurant chefs and home cooks. And with 2018 Farm Bill offering new opportunities, the CBD market is projected to be a $20 billion industry by 2022. Chances are you’re being asked all sorts of questions – but do you have evidence-based answers? In this webinar, you will learn what the buzz is all about and learn how to address common questions like “What is it? Does it work? Is it legal now? Is it safe?” and many more.
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • Describe the difference between the cannabis plants, including hemp and marijuana, and the difference in between cannabinoids, including cannabinol (CBD) and THC, the psycho-active ingredient in marijuana.

  • Summarize the current state of science on CBD’s safety and efficacy on various medical conditions as well as the variety of doses and delivery systems available to the consumer.

  • Discuss the legal implications of promoting CBD as a dietary supplement or food additive and the grey space that was created by the 2018 Farm Bill.

  • Be familiar with the future trends related to CBD and other, perhaps more exciting, compounds found in the cannabis plant.
