It is often referred to as nature’s perfect food, the pre-milk mammals receive from their mothers to set their immune system. Buthow can colostrum be used beyond infancy and why would it be usedin children and adults? During this webinar we will delve into theresearch and discuss what colostrum is, what it isn’t and how itcan be used as a therapeutic adjunct for various clinicalconditions. It is most well known for its immune system properties,but the beneficial impacts of colostrum stretch much wider thanjust the immune system. This webinar will also address thecontroversial aspects of using colostrum and how to select productsthat use best practices in manufacturing.

Alicia Galvin

Alicia Galvin MEd, RD, LD, CLT owner of Alicia Galvin LLC, has practiced in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with a keen interest in gastrointestinal (GI) disease, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, developing therapeutic diets for them to manage these conditions. She currently practices as an integrative and functional dietitian, helping patients develop customized solutions that empower them to take control of their health challenges. She earned a Master of Education in Counseling degree from the University of North Texas and completed her Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner (IFNCP) certification with the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy. She is also a Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT) with a specialty in food sensitivities and chronic inflammatory conditions.

In addition to founding her own practice, she also works with Carpathia Collaborative, a premier Functional Medicine Clinic in Dallas. She has served as Mentor Coordinator for the Nutrition Entrepreneur DPG, has been published in Today’s Dietitian as well as served as contributor to SCAN newsletters and PLM magazine.
