Treating Triggered Overeating in Nutrition Counseling
THE EBT APPROACH TO OBESITY AND STRESS EATING: TREATING TRIGGERED OVEREATING IN NUTRITION COUNSELING
Support your patients in understanding their brain’s stress eating style. Learn how to analyze which circuit in the brain is causing their overeating. Guide them in understanding why they overeat and how to use the EBT tools effectively for their stress eating style.

The EBT system is based on neurophysiology, easy to learn, and extremely practical. As circuits trigger all stress eating styles, extend your understanding of stress resilience to switch off those wires. View videos of actual sessions conducted by dietitians treating triggered overeating.

The session will model three additional clinical skills: the Feel Better Tool, the Travel Back Tool, and the Clear the Clutter Tool. These tools complete the foundational skills of resilience nutrition and will be drawn upon for the remaining three sessions to address common stress-fueled drives to overeat that prevent lasting weight loss.
Upon successful completion of this 2-hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • Describe a brain-based process of clearing the emotional blockade to optimal resilience.

  • Describe the characteristics of the EBT 5 Eating Styles.

  • Discuss the use of the Feel Better Tool, the Travel Back Tool, and the Clear the Clutter Tool to promote lasting improvements in eating and weight.

  • Apply the EBT tools to rewiring a Food Circuit to stop stress eating.
