A Special Role in Turning Around the Obesity Epidemic
THE EBT APPROACH TO OBESITY AND STRESS EATING: A SPECIAL ROLE IN TURNING AROUND THE OBESITY EPIDEMIC
As a dietitian, develop a resilience nutrition practice, integrating Emotional Brain Training (EBT) into your one-on-one counseling and supporting patients to switch off the stress-fueled drives to overeat and gain weight. Learn the science of disordered eating, binge eating, mindless eating, and chronic stress associated with Obesity Classes II and III (BMI of 35+) and start introducing the resilience skills of EBT with your choice of strategies that excite and motivate patients to use the tools to make healthy eating easier to achieve.

The session is practical, with many brief videos of explaining the stress eating triangle, brain circuits, and stress overload to patients, analyzing their brain maps and teaching them how to spiral up. Learn the Be Positive and Take Action Toolsand begin using them in your practice.
Upon successful completion of this 2-hour course, the participant should be able to:
  • Describe the neurophysiology and neuroplasticity of stress resilience.

  • Based on emerging science, articulate the relationship between overeating eating, obesity, and stress overload.

  • Differentiate the two types of brain circuits: reactive and resilient.

  • Identify three methods of introducing EBT to patients.

  • Analyze the EBT Brain Map of two patients.

  • Apply the Be Positive and Take Action Tools in a role-play of an initial clinical session.
