CURRENT PROS AND CONS OF SOY: THE CONTROVERSY CONTINUES
Globally in 2018, over 7,000 new products were launched containing soy protein. As nutritionists and health professionals, we remain somewhat in a quandary about soy and its food derivatives. There is compelling information why we should continue to recommend soy in the diet, and controversial research which keeps us questioning the benefits and risks.
As many people are leaning toward more plant-based living, along with the popularity of "meat based substitutes," this seminar will provide the most up-to-date, evidence-based research and perhaps give us more clarity on this consistently hot topic.
Upon successful completion of this one-hour course, the participant should be able to:
Understand how soy's popularity originated and why it still remains a controversial topic.
Interpret the most up-to-date information on soy, its risks and benefits.
Determine appropriate client/patient recommendations of soy intake.
