Commentary
This is a 100 bed growing hospital. Average census is 50 -
60 and general population is acutely ill, geriatric, but we
are starting a new heart program. I do also see out
patients and provide community programs. Also precept
students from the local college. I am hourly 18.67 per hour
and also get paid to be on call on the weekends at 2.00 per
hour plus time and half if I get called. I do work about 3
- 5 hours over time per pay. We have a per diem dietitian
that helps with out patients but she is only allowed to work
8 hours per week.
Private Practice Hourly Rate
$31-$40
Basis for Private Practice Hourly Rate
I do various consulting jobs on the side including hospitla
fill in, long term care, head start, Home delivered meals,
community workshops etc.. Need to pay for expenses of self
employment tax, retirement ira, office supplies, education
and dues, paying someone to do books etc..... This really
ads up. Calulated that if I quit my other full time job I
would have to make a minimum of 35 per hour to just break
even and make the same as I do with benefits at this
hospital. Would need 40$ or 50$ per hour to really make it
worth doing on a regular basis.
