I'm really interested in starting my own consulting business which would focus on weight loss, high cholesterol, hypertension. I live in New Hampshire and I'm wondering if anyone knows what the average charge is for sessions (initial assessment and follow ups). I was also wondering if anyone has documentation or knows where I could find documentation on starting my own consulting business. Thank you!!

Hi,

I commend you for your passion to be self-employed and in control of your own income.

I have been Independently employed for 6 years. I am currently seeking dietitians like myself who might want to consider something totally different from what we normally pursue.

I represent a Wellness Company and we focus on Total Wellness. I love what I do as I am helping families all across North America meet their wellness goals in many different ways. It has been very rewarding for my family.

You may want to buy The Entrepreneurial Nutritionist by Kathy King, RD. It includes forms and handouts. I believe you can get it through Helm Publishing, so it would include also getting CEU's:) This is where I would start if I was going out on my own. I'm sure if you "googled" Kathy King, RD, she probably also has a website.

Liz, is this a multi-level marketing company, targeted primarily at selling supplements? I often hear these "wellness" companies advertised and am just wondering?

No, Actually we are a Consumer Direct Marketing Company. Our company manufacturers over 400 personal care and health care products all focused on Health and Wellness.

I have been doing this from home for 6 years. I find that it is perfect for me as a Dietitian as it incorporates every aspect of our training.....clinical and management....I do earn a full-time salary with this company.

For a home-based business, it has been a perfect fit for me as I love helping families aim for Total Wellness. It's rewarding to be in a field where you are working with people who truly want to be helped.
