Picky Eating
PICKY EATING: STRATEGIES FOR SHIFTING FROM STRUGGLE TO SUCCESS
Picky eating comes up time and again as a stubborn childhood feeding problem. Parents are trying their best to get their children to eat. Pressure builds as everyone gives parents practical advice and dutiful doctors tell them how important it is to get their children to eat. What parents and children need is less pressure, not more. The problem of pickiness is an issue appropriately addressed in primary care practice. But what are the key pieces of information you need to ask? Once you identify the causal and contributing factors, then what? The road to success in treating feeding problems is clearly defined in the Satter Feeding Dynamics Model.
